BIRCH BAY, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the 4600 block of Loft Lane shortly after noon today, Tuesday, September 19th, due to reports of a structure fire. Approximate location of the fire
North Whatcom Fire and Rescue (NWFR) along with Whatcom County Fire District 7 (WCFD7) and arrived to find a fire in the carport at a residence.
NWFR Division Chief Shaun Ward told Whatcom News crews on scene were able to extinguish the fire within minutes and limiting the damage to the carport. The home was undamaged, and the occupants were not displaced by the fire.
There were no injuries to occupants or personnel according to Ward.
The scene was turned over to the Whatcom County Fire Marshal’s Office to determine the cause of the fire.
